Essaouira beach




Essaouira  (Arabic: Tifinagh: ⵎⵓⴳⴰⴷⵉⵔ) is a port town and city in Morocco, capital of the province of Essaouira, in the Marrakech-Safi region. It is located at the edge of the Atlantic Ocean, and in 2014 there were 77 966 inhabitants.

Although the region of Essaouira has been occupied since ancient times by the Phoenicians, Romans and indigenous Berber, it was not until the sixteenth century that the site is really busy.
